Social ID is a shared board where you can claim one tile and put your photo and links on it. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, what everyone can see, and how to remove it.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, Google tells us your account ID, email address, name and profile photo. We keep your Google account ID and email address, so that each account can hold only one tile and only you can change or remove yours. We don’t store your Google name. We use your Google photo only if you choose “Use my Google photo” for your tile.
What you give us:
- the username you choose;
- a display name, if you add one;
- a photo, if you add one. We download it from the link you give, crop it into the tile shape and keep our own copy;
- the social links you add.
When you report a tile, we store the reason, any details you write, and a scrambled one-way code made from your network address. The code lets us ignore duplicate reports and can’t be turned back into your address. We don’t store the address itself.
When something breaks, your browser may send us the error message, the page it happened on and your browser type, so we can fix it. Our server logs record which address on our site was requested and whether it worked. They don’t include your name or email.
What is public
Anyone visiting Social ID can see your tile number, username, display name, photo and social links. That is the point of the board, so only add what you are happy for anyone to see.
Your email address and Google account ID are never shown to anyone.
Cookies and storage
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies and we don’t track you across other websites. Your browser remembers your light or dark appearance setting on your own device. Signing in is kept only while the page is open. Signing in uses Google’s sign-in service, which sets its own cookies under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Google user data
Social ID’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to sign you in and run your tile. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or share it except with the service providers below that run the site.
Where your information is kept
- Database (your account, username and links): Supabase, in Mumbai, India.
- Server that handles requests: Render, in Singapore.
- Website and tile photos: Cloudflare, served from its worldwide network.
These providers store and process information only to run Social ID. They may keep their own short-lived technical logs, including network addresses, to operate and protect their services.
How long we keep it
Your tile, username, photo and links stay until you remove your tile or ask us to delete them. Deleting a tile also deletes its photo, its links and any reports about it. If you chose a username but never claimed a tile, we keep your account ID, email and username until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
- See, correct or delete your information: email us from the address of the Google account you signed in with, and we’ll do it promptly.
- Stop using Social ID: sign out, and you can remove Social ID’s access at any time in your Google Account.
Children
Social ID is not meant for children. You must be 18 or older to claim a tile, or have your parent or guardian’s permission.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how your information is used, we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect.
